I knew as a little girl that medicine was my cup of tea. Growing up, I helped my grandma as she battled diabetes and kidney failure. Once I had children, I knew how important it was to know basic life saving measures, especially considering how kids can be so active and curious at times. Now that my mother has been diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer, she has become my motivation to keep going and finish! Being an example for my family means so much to me as I near the end of my program. I want to encourage my other family members (4 children) and friends to pursue their dreams, finish what they started, and succeed in their careers.

Self-discipline, self-motivation, responsibility, sacrifice, and determination has gotten me to this point. I plan to continue my good habits and finish strong. Always start your term strong, and keep at it. This way at the end you won’t have to catch up to pass.
To those who are considering nursing school: Start. The only way you can fail is to never start. Take a deep breath, stop thinking about the negative, and just start.
